A variety of opportunities are presented in the hinterland of the ARD RÍ HOUSE hotel, which will provide enjoyment for walkers of all abilities and ages.

Accept, if you will, the challenge of such as the Suck Valley Way, the Western Way, the Arigna Mines Way or the Tocher Valley incorporating the pilgrims path to Croagh Patrick. More locally take a pleasant stroll from Caherlestrane to the top of Knockma or a walk through the peaceful woodlands of Rinville Park near Oranmore, or Coole Park near Gort, with all its fascinating historical literary connections.

Also pleasant discoveries are to made amongst the native deer of Portumna Forest Park, and the woodlands of Woodford, Ballygar and Mountbellew.

Finally in Tuam itself there are walking tours organised from the Mill Museum should you wish to "go alone" there is a comprehensive walking it itnerary on the Tuam Guide website.
